Thank you Millcraft for your generous support!

Millcraft Donates $23,000 for Patient Care and Services at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton

Millcraft recently donated $23,000 to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton through its Buy & Give copy paper purchasing program. The gift will be used to help refurbish the not-for-profit hospice’s spa services at the Hospice House. Since 2015, Millcraft has donated more than $100,000 to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton for patient care and services.

“Millcraft is committed to supporting local organizations and formed partnerships with vendors to give back with every purchase made through its Buy & Give copy paper purchasing program,” said Lori Poelking-Igel, president of the Ohio’s Hospice Foundation. “We are so grateful for this gift, which supports our mission of providing superior care and superior services to the patients and families we are honored and privileged to serve.”

Through its Buy & Give community initiative program, Millcraft, a family-owned merchant that serves the professional paper, packaging, and graphic arts industries, provides businesses the opportunity to support local charities through routine purchases of Buy & Give brand office paper. For every carton of paper purchased, Millcraft donates $1 to the program.

In the fall of 2021, Millcraft donated more than $12,000 to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. Evan Baker, division manager of Millcraft, explained that the recent additional $23,000 gift was a surprise donation by Millcraft’s owner, Travis Mlakar.

“He was touched by Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton after our executive team visited and toured the Hospice House,” Baker said. “At Millcraft, it is part of our core values to give back. Since we are doing well as a business, he took it upon himself to give a little more.”

During the recent Millcraft visit to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, Millcraft executives and Ohio’s Hospice Foundation leaders recognized Baker for his dedication to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton with a plaque made in his honor renaming the Foundation’s conference room as the Millcraft Evan Baker Conference Room.

“I am blown away to see that the Ohio’s Hospice Foundation renamed a conference room to include my name alongside Millcraft,” Baker said. “I am not worthy, but I am proud of Millcraft and honored.”

The donation from Millcraft will help Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton replace the tub and lift chair in the Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton patient bathing spa, which were obsolete and could no longer be serviced. Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton offers the spa to patients as part of its commitment to providing the highest quality of care. The new seated bathing system offers patients a dignified, safe and comfortable alternative to traditional tubs. Bathers enter the tub in a comfortable and secure chair. The whirlpool tub soothes and nurtures a patient’s skin, providing a therapeutic experience.

“We are blessed to receive this additional gift from Travis Mlakar and Millcraft,” Poelking-Igel said. “We want to congratulate Millcraft for all of their hard work in making this program a joint success!”
