Hospice of Dayton recently developed an interactive Story Garden display celebrating the lives of patients. This touch screen kiosk offers visitors a glimpse into the lives of patients we’ve had the privilege to serve. The display is featured in the garden level of the Dayton campus by Carole’s Cafe.

Hospice of Dayton is one of eight health organizations nationally to be recognized this week at The Circle of Life Awards, which honor innovative programs in palliative and end-of-life care. The 2013 awards are supported, in part, by the California HealthCare Foundation, based in Oakland, California, and Cambia Health Foundation. Major sponsors of the 2013 awards are the American Hospital Association, the Catholic Health Association, and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization & National Hospice Foundation. The awards are cosponsored by the Alliance for Excellence in Hospice and Palliative Nursing, The American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and the National Association of Social Workers.

Square One Salon in downtown Dayton is staging a Salon-a-thon to benefit Hospice of Dayton on Sunday, August 11. Appointments are required. The salon, located at 506 E. Third St., is offering haircuts, shampoo and style, 30-minute facials, massages or pedicures all for $20 and a donation to Hospice of Dayton! Ten dollar manicures, brow wax and consultation and 15-minute massages are also available with donation to hospice. Call ahead to schedule an appointment – 937-461-2222.
