There are so many ways you can support the Mission of Hospice of Dayton and Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties.
Direct gifts are those transferred immediately from you to the Hospice of Dayton® Foundation. The following are types of donations that qualify as direct gifts and can be put to work right away to support patient care:
- Cash (giving online with a credit card or by phone at 937-258-5537)
- Stocks (publicly traded)
- Life Insurance
- Real Estate
- Personal Property, including furniture and household goods
- Retirement assets (such as IRAs)
Many businesses have programs to match employee gifts of cash either in whole or in part. Please contact your Human Resources Department to learn if your company will match your gift to the Hospice of Dayton® Foundation in support of either Hospice of Dayton® or Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. Matching gifts are a great way to often double, or sometimes triple, your generous gift.
Major gifts are donations of direct gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations of $1,000 or more. Contact the Hospice of Dayton® Foundation at 1-937-258-5537 or 1-937-258-4924
Planned giving is an option for donors at all income levels. Through a planned gift, you can support patient care and Pathways of Hope grief support with a larger gift than you otherwise thought based on your current assets.
With planned giving, you have various giving options. You may be able to receive income for life, earn higher investment yield or reduce your capital gains or estate taxes.
Tribute and Naming Opportunities
You can celebrate the life of someone you love with whom you shared precious moments by choosing a personalized plaque or garden on the campus of Hospice of Dayton. Many visitors to Hospice of Dayton’s campus have received comfort from the beautifully appointed grounds and views visible from each patient care suite. Our remembrance walkway is one of the most unique aspects about our main campus. It was built brick-by-brick and heart-by-heart, and continues to provide a lasting tribute to those whose lives are being honored. Some of our newer features include statuary, soothing waterfalls and beautiful gardens. Also new is the memory plaque – each plaque represents the name of a special friend or family member.
Our campus and its special features provide tangible ways for friends and family to remember or honor their loved ones. Proceeds from these naming opportunities go toward supporting our mission of providing comfort, compassionate care and supportive grief services for those at end-of-life. Many family members and friends enjoy returning each year at a special time to visit their memorial brick, plaque or garden and reminisce. Our varied naming options are also purchased in honor of friends to celebrate a wedding anniversary, birthday or special award. For example, co-workers might contribute toward a plaque to celebrate the retirement or promotion of a co-worker. A family might purchase a garden as a living legacy to honor their entire family.
Our campus has been creatively designed by award-winning landscaping professionals to provide a comforting stroll for families visiting their loved ones. It also provides our patients with views from their care suites of well-manicured grounds featuring butterfly gardens, shade trees, flowering plants, water features and unique statuary. Naming opportunities exist for all of these features, as well as for fairy gardens, benches, arbors and planting beds.
For family members who live far away from the Hospice of Dayton campus, or for those who want a permanent copy of their memorial plaque, we also offer mini-plaques or framed prints of garden signage. Group dedication services are held annually, however, families may request special private dedication services for gardens, rooms and statuary.
Details about naming and tribute opportunities are available by contacting Marsha Bernard at (937)258-5537 or email@example.com.
