DESCRIPTION:Do You Have a Loved One Suffering from Alzheimer’s? \nMany families try to deal with Alzheimer’s and dementia care challenges while keeping loved ones at home. These educational sessions will focus on practical techniques for home caregivers to improve quality of care for people with dementia\, as well as reduce the stress on caregivers. \nThe program series will consist of 12 sessions (1 hour each) using the science of cognitive ergonomics and neuroscience research to improve the quality of life for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The sessions will take place at Hospice of Dayton and will be presented by Dr. Govind Bharwani\, a nationally recognized expert in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. DESCRIPTION:A DAY OF SUPPORT AND FUN FOR GRIEVING CHILDREN AND TEENS \nPathways Breakaway is a grief focused event designed for children and teens that have experienced the death of a parent or significant loved one. Going through this day-long event in age specific groups\, children and teens will enjoy grief groups utilizing discussion\, art and games as well as fun activities such as swimming. Lunch and snacks provided. Participants will also receive helpful insights and information about coping with grief during the holidays as well as a small keepsake. The program will be followed by light refreshments. \nHope for the Holidays is open to any member of the community who is grieving the loss of a loved one. Seating is limited.
