The Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton Heirlooms Shoppe at 1413 Wilmington Avenue in Kettering will be closed May 23, 24, and 25 for remodeling. The store plans a Grand Reopening on June 6 with a new, fresh look and presentation.
“The changes will provide our current and future patrons with a warm, inviting experience,” says Heirlooms Shoppe manager Charles Dawes. “The new surroundings are an expression of gratitude to our loyal shoppers, volunteers, and sales team. Every dollar spent at our Heirlooms locations benefits the patients and families in our care.”
Since Heirlooms opened its doors 11 years ago, the Heirlooms donation truck has traveled more than 55,000 miles to greet donors and collect household items. In the past 5 years, community members have raised more than $1,000,000 for patients and families. Those dollars enable everyone in the greater Dayton area, regardless of their ability to pay, to receive superior care and superior services from Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
“Customers will now be able to focus entirely on our inventory and leisurely walk around our store to enjoy our updated space,” Dawes says. “They will be encouraged to return and tell their friends and family about our selection of quality, low cost inventory that benefits those in need.”
The Wilmington Avenue location will resume regular operating hours on May 26. Store hours are Monday – Friday, 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm. The newly renovated Shoppe is one of two Heirlooms Shoppes serving the area. A second location in Centerville at 461 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. in the Normandy Square Center will maintain regular hours, open to the public Monday – Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. “Both Shoppes have become valuable touch points for the community,” Dawes notes. “If you would like to donate household furniture and accessories to our mission, please call 937-294-9200 to reserve your free furniture pickup and to learn more about our shops.”
